What do you do to unwind?
Noah loves listening to music during his
off time. It’s his most favorite thing. I have
taken up vegetable gardening, which I
really love.
How Noah overcame his fear of
dogs. We have one dog, now, from
Dogwood Animal Rescue Project. Her
name is Holly. Our first dog, Alfie, was
from the Santa Cruz SPCA. At the time,
Noah was afraid of dogs, so we worked
with the shelter to find a really calm dog.
Alfie was perfect and helped Noah over-
come his fear of dogs. When Alfie passed,
last year, we were all heartbroken. But,
because of Alfie, we were able to adopt
Holly, who is much younger and a more
typical dog. Our experience with Alfie
made it possible to bring Holly into our
home. She hangs out with me in my
studio, and follows me everywhere. We go
on walks through the neighborhood,
where she has other dog friends.
Leonardo Da Vinci If I could meet
another artist I think it would be
Leonardo Da Vinci. He had an incredible
mind and a keen sense of curiosity.
Inspirations My inspiration comes
from nature and the abundance of life and
beauty it gives us. This, I hope, is reflected
in the work I do. I am also inspired
personally by the people who are brave in
their kindness.
What inspires me with this collection
in many ways are the textures themselves
and, of course, Noah.
We all have something beautiful that
we can share. I also love that Noah and
I are doing something together that
we both love. What could be better
than that?”
Noah and Holly.
More than 15 years ago, Patti Gay took
a chance and sent the collaborative art
works she was creating with her son
to various manufacturers to see if any-
one would be interested in licensing
their work. Her first “yes” came from
the Tervis Tumbler Company. Today,
their art may be found on everything
from home accessories to clothing. We
recently found their artwork on cock-
tail napkins at Wildflower Cafe’s
Market in Clearwater.
