Rosie

In January, Rosie was found lying in a ditch on the side of the road in Highlands County. X-rays showed she had a 
broken femur and multiple pelvic fractures. Donte’s Den Animal Sanctuary in Myakka City committed to Rosie’s 
care, including surgery, performed by Dr. Byron Young of Gulf Shore Veterinary Specialty Surgery, Englewood, 
Florida.  The surgery alone cost upwards of $6,000.  This photograph is Rosie at four weeks, 
post surgery. She is walking, wagging her tail and forever with a smile on her face.
